Paramedical Staff Training
With the aim of imparting technical knowledge and skills among the students of rural area, he also established a paramedical institute at the same hospital campus and has been conducting Diploma Courses in Nursing, Dialysis, X ray and CT Scan, Laboratory and OT technician courses recognized by the Indian Medical Association.
All the students are trained in the Hospital campus itself under the expert guidance of experienced consultants and trained technicians of respective specialties. A hostel and canteen is also provided for girl students within the campus.
Many students have won state level awards many times in the final exams, which is a proof that this institution is the Alma Mater for many experts in this field.
He was always fond of his staff and took care of all their needs. He contributed to their welfare measures such as scholarships for the education of their children, marriage benefit fund and food at subsidized rates.
Students from rural areas with poor socio-economic background are given scholarships to reduce their economic burden and also provided hostel facilities. The students are also given job opportunities at the hospital itself and also get placements in leading medical institutions after successfully completing the courses.
His care and affection for his staff are much acclaimed and many of them are still serving the institution for more than 4 decades (40 years) of service. He was instrumental in taking care of their financial needs both personal and family and he donated plots for the construction of houses to many of them in the prime areas of the town which has been unheard of even in corporate sectors.
He is a multifaceted personality and his interests include farming activities. He invested his precious earnings to procure land and develop farming activities to help the economically downtrodden people in the rural areas.
LKB set up a Palm oil farm with modern horticultural facilities in the Rural area of Kurungulam village near Thanjavur. He developed Palm oil plantations with complete drip irrigation systems to manage water augmentation and several solar power plants for an environment friendly measure. This is one of the largest Palm oil Plantations in the state. This farm provides Job opportunities to many farmers and skilled workers directly and indirectly in and around the village and helps in the livelihood of hundreds of illiterate manual laborers engaged in the farming activities.
This also saves the state exchequer crucial foreign exchange since major consumption is from import of palm oil. A Major contributor of Carbon Exchange – helping our environment to rejuvenate.
